The Grand 1000 player tournament

The legendary Tusenmanna tournament returned in 2026 after a 19-year absence, bringing together 920 players as part of ChessParty Stockholm. In 2027, the Stockholm Chess Federation and ChessParty welcome Tusenmanna back for an upgraded edition at Stockholmsmässan.

Tusenmanna is a chess tournament where everyone has a chance, regardless of skill level, age or experience. Its unique time-handicap system gives stronger players less time and less experienced players more time, creating exciting games and genuine opportunities for players at every level.

Players begin in eight-player round-robin groups. The group winners advance to four semifinal sections, and the winner of each section qualifies for the four-player final.

SCHEDULE: SATURDAY, 24 APRIL 2027

• Doors open and player check-in: 09:00–10:00
• Group stage: 10:30–14:00
• Semifinals: 15:00–19:00
• Final: 20:00–21:30

ENTRY FEE

• Adults aged 17 and above: SEK 490
• Children and youth aged 16 and below: SEK 290
• FIDE grandmasters: Free entry

The entry fee includes tournament participation and full access to ChessParty throughout Saturday. Players may upgrade to a two-day ChessParty pass when purchasing their ticket.

PRIZE FUND

• 1st prize: SEK 55,000
• 2nd prize: SEK 35,000
• 3rd prize: SEK 20,000
• 4th prize: SEK 10,000

Additional prizes will be awarded to semifinalists and through random draws among eliminated players.
