What we use
ChessParty uses first-party cookies and local browser storage that are necessary for security, sign-in, preferences and reliable operation. We use optional statistics, marketing and external media on public pages only when you choose them. We do not use these tags in the private staff workspace.
Cookie names can include an application-specific prefix and may differ slightly between production and preview environments.
We use the existing first-party session to avoid counting the same ticket step repeatedly and to match a return from the external ticket provider. Persistent reporting contains aggregate daily counts, not a session identifier or advertising profile.
Cookies and storage
- chessparty_consent
- Saves your choice for statistics, marketing and external media so we can honor it on later visits.
- Typical duration: Up to 180 days
- Session cookie (*_session)
- Keeps the website and staff sign-in flow working across requests. It also connects an edition visit, ticket-link click and return from the external ticket provider in the same browser session.
- Typical duration: Session or configured session lifetime
- XSRF-TOKEN
- Protects forms and authenticated actions against cross-site request forgery.
- Typical duration: Session
- sidebar_state
- Remembers whether an authenticated staff member left the workspace navigation open.
- Typical duration: Up to seven days
- Remember-me cookie (remember_web_*)
- Keeps a staff member signed in only when they choose “Remember me”.
- Typical duration: Until expiry or sign-out
- Google Analytics (_ga, _ga_*)
- Measures public page visits when you allow statistics.
- Typical duration: Set by Google; may vary by configuration
- Google Ads (_gcl_*), Meta (_fbp, _fbc), TikTok (_ttp, ttcsid*)
- Supports advertising measurement and attribution when you allow marketing.
- Typical duration: Set by each provider; may vary by configuration
Optional services
Statistics uses Google Analytics 4. Marketing uses Google Ads, Meta Pixel and TikTok Pixel. These providers may receive your public page address and technical browser information when you allow their category. Their tags are not loaded before that choice is saved.
External media allows YouTube or Vimeo video embeds to load. Without that choice, the video remains blocked.
With marketing consent, a first visit to the ChessParty ticket return page may be counted as an advertising conversion, although it does not prove that a ticket was purchased.
Embedded and external services
Some edition pages may include video from YouTube or Vimeo, or link to external ticketing, registration and partner services. Embedded content can allow its provider to receive technical information and use its own browser storage under that provider’s terms.
YouTube embeds use its privacy-enhanced domain where available. The iframe loads only after external-media consent. Following an external link takes you away from ChessParty, and the destination’s cookie notice then applies.
Your choices
Use “Privacy choices” in the public footer to change or withdraw optional consent at any time. You can also remove or block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking necessary cookies may prevent staff sign-in, security controls, form submissions or saved preferences from working.
Staff members can avoid the longer-lived sign-in cookie by leaving “Remember me” unchecked and can remove authentication cookies by signing out.
Contact and updates
Questions about cookies can be sent to post@chessparty.com. We update this notice when browser storage or embedded services change.
