The origin of chess – Chaturanga – comes from India, and today Indian chess has reached new heights with world champion Gukesh Dommaraju, alongside stars such as Arjun Erigaisi and R Praggnanandhaa. We can also see this strong presence in Swedish chess clubs, where many players have roots in India.

Sweden has also welcomed many people from India in fields such as IT and engineering. The connection between chess, strategic thinking, and programming is strong, and this is something Chessparty wants to bring forward, especially given the huge interest in chess from Indians.

This leads us to two questions. How many Indians in Sweden play chess? Who is the strongest Indian chess player in Sweden?

The tournament will consist of 7 rounds and will be played without a chess clock. After 15 minutes, the games will be evaluated, if it has not been decided already. If you are in the lead with 5 points or more, you will win.
