Jon Ludvig Hammer

Jon Ludvig Hammer is a Norwegian chess grandmaster. He peaked at number 40 on the world rankings, but these days he's more known for his commentary than his play.

He has been the face of chess at Norway's TV 2-network since 2014, exciting audiences with his trademark enthusiasm and passion for the game. Adding to his decade on Norwegian television, he's also been featured in English on Twitch, doing commentary for fellow ChessParty guests Anna Cramling and Andea Botez, as well as Hikaru Nakamura.

In fact, Hammer will be arriving in Stockholm straight after the Candidates tournament, where he will have guided Hikaru's audience through the games which may see the American winning the right to challenge World Champion Gukesh in November.
