Aage Sivertsen

Aage G. Sivertsen is a best-selling Norwegian author. He has written 20 books. Most of them about World War II. He is a trained historian and criminologist. Sivertsen was the leader of Kristiansund Chess Club for five years and was also responsible for developing 6 younger Norwegian players, five of whom became grandmasters. One of them, Aryan Tari, also became junior world champion.

Since 2013, when Magnus Carlsen became world champion for the first time, Sivertsen has been in regular contact with Magnus' father, Henrik Carlsen. Sivertsen has been an advisor to manager Henrik Carlsen for several years. From 2013 and the next two years, Sivertsen collaborated with Henrik Carlsen weekly. During this period, Sivertsen also followed Magnus Carlsen around the world at all tournaments. In 2015, the book "Magnus" was published by one of Norway's largest publishers, Kagge. The book is also translated to German and English.The book is primarily an introduction to psychology. The cooperation between father and son is central.

The lecture is divided into three parts:

Magnus Carlsen versus Mozart. Magnus Carlsen is compared to Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Information about how important memory is in chess. This is also the first chapter in the book where I compare the two phenomena in detail. This is the key to become a good chess player.

Dad's role Crucial focus on play - and not in such a way that Magnus has ever been pressured to perform.

Money as a driving force From an ordinary and tight economy to earning tens of millions a year. How money can become a carrot to perform. How important it is to have focus rather than getting lost in sponsors, and learning to say no, when the media is pushing at its worst.
