Learn to Play with a Master – Simen Agdestein

Join GM Simen Agdestein for an exclusive session where you’ll learn how a grandmaster approaches the game.
As Norway’s first grandmaster, Agdestein has played a central role in the development of Norwegian chess. Already as a teenager, he made his mark internationally, winning board one gold at the Chess Olympiad — a rare and remarkable achievement. Decades later, he remains at the top, winning the Norwegian Championship as recently as 2024.
In this session, he will guide you through key ideas and practical concepts from real games, showing how strong players think, plan, and make decisions over the board. The focus is on understanding rather than memorisation, with clear explanations and instructive examples.
You’ll also gain insights from a long career at a high level — what works in practice, common mistakes to avoid, and how to approach positions with greater clarity and confidence.
Stay for the simul right after the session and put your new ideas to the test against the master himself.
